Exceptional French Art Deco vanity with large round mirror, sliding central cabinet, and original stool, crafted in richly figured wood veneer, circa 1930s.
An elegant and highly functional French Art Deco dressing table with its original stool, dating from the 1930s. This refined piece combines striking geometry, luxurious veneers, and an ingenious movable design.
The vanity is dominated by a monumental circular mirror framed in richly figured veneer, with deep flame patterns and warm amber tones. Its generous scale creates an architectural presence while maintaining a refined and balanced silhouette.
A unique feature of this model is the central cabinet mounted on a metal rail system, allowing it to smoothly slide from left to right. This offers flexible positioning and easy access to the drawers, making the design not only beautiful but also practical — a clever example of early 20th-century innovation in luxury furniture.
The cabinet includes two drawers: a shallow upper compartment for jewelry or accessories, and a deeper lower drawer for personal items. The side panels curve gracefully and are connected by chrome runners, emphasizing the horizontal Art Deco symmetry.
The matching stool retains its original quilted golden fabric and curved veneered backrest, echoing the lines of the vanity and completing the ensemble with warmth and charm.
Condition
Very good original condition with minor wear consistent with age and use. Veneer and mirror beautifully preserved. Upholstery with light patina.
