Mid century molded plywood low 3 drawer dresser by Paul Goodman for plymold In red Lacquer. Has rounded design with inset handles with bentwood curved drawers and legs. Good vintage condition. Located in Brooklyn NYC. Measures 46” x 19” x 33” high About the furniture design. Streamlined Mid century dresser of Bentwood construction by designer Paul Goldman for Plymold. This unique and beautiful treatment of wood furniture was developed by Goldman, a master boat builder in Lawrence Massachusettes who created an entire line of furniture based on plywood sheathed in laminate in curved and moulded forms. Goldman has been referenced as the “father of plywood technology” gaining fame for several iconic designs of the postwar era furniture 1945-1947. Paul Goldman created plywood tubing and bentwood appliecations for military use during WW2 and then began making home furniture in the years after the war.
