About the Item

A very refined signed Bar Cabinet, of the late Art Deco period, by the renowned French furniture designer Jules Leleu (1883-1961). The dropdown front reveals a mirrored interior, with a setback shelf, for storing glasses and bottles : the door automatically activates a light switch which illuminates this section. The bottom section has two doors which have chromed racks attached to the inside for storing glasses. The front, top and bottom, is richly decorated with lozenge shaped marquetry and inset with the iconic Jules Leleu motif in brass.The distinctif shaped front feet are finished with brass sabots. The original locks and keys are in perfect working order. Signed J Leleu on the inside of the bottom right hand door.
