About the Item
A black, antique French secretary with a writing flap made of hand crafted shellac polished, partly veneered Ebony, in good condition. The bottom part of the Parisian cabinet is composed with three large drawers, standing on four lion feet. The top part of the cupboard is decorated with one small drawer, particularized by fire-gilded bronze hardware, décor. The inside is made of veneered Birchwood, consisting four drawers and three compartment storages, detailed by black polished ebonized columns and brass pulls. The backside is embellished with the original mirrored glass. Restored, refurbished and hand polished. The secretaire represents the First French Empire time period, era also known as Napoleonic France. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1820 - 1830, Paris, France.
