Hello, This elegant and truly exceptional early Viennese Biedermeier Secretaire was made in Vienna circa 1825. Solid walnut and bookmatched walnut and maple veneer with ebonized detail. Maple gallery with two secret compartments and writing ebonized surface. The brass hardware and locks are original. The secretaire has a beautiful highly figured walnut veneer with lovely light deep amber color and 200 years old patina. This Viennese Biedermeier piece represents museum quality. These kinds of pieces are very rare and difficult to acquire. The secretaire will be a great complement to any elegant interior.
