Antique 19th Century Inlaid Burr Walnut Bonheur de Jour Bureau Desk / Writing Table Full of authentic charm and character, this fine quality 19th Century Bonheur de Jour bureau desk is crafted from inlaid burr walnut veneers over a predominantly mahogany construction, making it elegant and strong. Its delicate design, decorative marquetry inlays, and ormolu brass mounts make it a rare and impressive statement piece. Features Craftsmanship Patinated tooled leather writing surface Mirrored glass in good condition with only light oxidation Attractive marquetry inlays and ormolu brass mount decorations Structurally sound, no loose joints, no signs of woodworm Drawers slide freely; keys supplied for glass compartments and fall front Condition In good antique condition overall, showing minor historic knocks, marks, cracks, scratches, repairs, and wear consistent with functional period furniture. The age and patina of the veneers include some minor losses and repairs, which add to the authenticity and charm of this piece.
