About the Item

A classic secretary chest finely crafted in mahogany. With a tall fall front top opening to a fitted interior with three small drawers above and below the serpentine cubby holes. The writing surface is covered with newer green felt. The chest has three long drawers, all with decorative brass bales with shell motifs. The front corners with fluted half column supports and raised on a carved base with bracket feet. Dimensions: 37" wide x 18" deep x 44" high Condition: Please review the detail photos. Various signs of age and use include the top with scratches, marks and some stable cracquelure to the surface. The lowest drawer is warped and has a loss on the upper right corner. One corner has open joinery to the bracket feet. One inner top drawer is lacking the pull and despite the wear the presentation is refined.
