About the Item
Impressive Baroque secretary from Dresden, featuring a two-drawer, slightly bombé commode base. Above it, a tall slant-front writing flap reveals a finely arranged interior with six small drawers and a shaped central shelf.
The upper section comprises a two-door cabinet crowned with a molded arched pediment. Inside, the architecture is articulated with pilasters, additional drawers, and a central niche. The piece is veneered in beautifully figured walnut, hand-polished, and fitted with fire-gilt bronze mounts—an outstanding example of mid-18th-century courtly craftsmanship from Dresden.
