This beautiful Bonheur du Jour, litterally "Happiness of the day" desk is made of a Boulle marquetry.
Tiered upper part, opening with two medallion doors and two small drawers. Lower part opening with a belt drawer topped with a red leather writing tablet. Boulle Marquetry, chiseled brass ball on a background of red tinted scales and blackened pear wood veneer. Ornamentation of chiseled and gilded bronzes. Napoleon the 3d Period (Circa 1880).
