Circa 1815 French Empire Secrétaire à Abattant. Mahogany with mahogany
oak secondary wood. Ingenious hidden drawers
locking mechanisms. Bronze mounted columns flank the front with cinching at the waist of the upper section; wonderful quality mounts on the frieze of the upper drawer
at the ends surmounting the columns, as well as the secretaire drop down door escutcheon. Well fitted interior includes mirrored open section flanked by columns
writing drawer. Replaced veined green marble
leather writing surface. Minor loss to top of central bronze mount on lower doors
left faux escutcheon mount possibly replaced. 18" d., 39 1/8" w., 56.5" h.
