About the Item

Here is a stunning early 19th century Swedish Gustavian secretary. This secretary features a newer, professionally applied white and gray exterior painted finish by master Swedish artisans to bring new life to this lovely secretary desk. Upper cabinet with curved crown and paneled doors open to reveal 4 interior shelves which one was used to hold kitchen utensils or silverware. The desktop lays open and rests on two extended shelves and opens to reveal 13 small drawers, central cubby and 3 open areas or cubbies (some of the drawers need assistance to open as this piece is old). The lower section has three larger drawers. Appears to feature original hardware. Keys appear to be fixed into the eustachian. Open Depth: 30.5 in. All scratches, cracks, dings, and age related separation are commensurate with age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this lovely secretary.
