French Empire Secretary Desk, 19th Century – Mahogany Veneer, Marble Top, Bronze Details
This stunning 19th-century French Empire secretary desk is a true statement piece, showcasing the elegance and craftsmanship of the Empire period. The desk features exquisite book-matched mahogany veneer, known for its rich grain and luxurious tone.
The lower section offers two paneled doors, opening to reveal three spacious drawers—ideal for concealed storage. The upper section includes a fall-front writing flap with its original leather surface, leading to an organized interior with several small drawers, an open compartment, and finely crafted miniature columns adorned with bronze capitals.
Above the writing compartment sits one wide drawer and a beautiful gray marble top, completing the stately look. Flanking the piece are two full-height columns, each accented with bronze capitals and bases, adding to the desk’s architectural presence.
