About the Item

A sensational and unique French PP S XIX cartonnier, Transition style from Louis XV to Louis XVI, high quality, mahogany, mahogany palm and leather. The cartonnier rises on a solid mahogany wood base and the upper part ends with a desk with camel-colored leather embossed in gold. This secretaire opens with a folding lid to store documents or writing instruments inside. In the center are six striking camel leather drawers with delicate and simple handles. Each drawer has a front flap and a top fold when opened for easy access. The drawers can be locked using the ingenious top-down fold-out side on the right, which opens to allow the drawers to be opened. The upper part of the desk houses a hidden compartment that is accessed by removing a small drawer where it houses space for the inkwells, and preserves one of them. In very good condition for its age and use.
