A fine English period George I large secretary bureau escritoire - or scriptor - of patinated walnut from the 18th century.
Featuring burr walnut-figured veneers framed in broad cross-banded borders edged with feather-banding and attractive brass hardware throughout.
The top tier with ogee canopy long drawer over cabinet fall.
The fall with inset leather and opening to a cupboard with fitted drawers and center door with interior fitted drawers.
The bottom tier with two short drawers over two long drawers - each drawer with decorative escutcheons.
The whole set upon turned bun feet.
Depth with fall extended: 42 3/4 inches
