About the Item

A fine English double secretary bookcase of mahogany from the late Georgian era, c.1780, featuring a crown moulded top with two astragal glazed doors, each side opening to four long adjustable shelves. Set upon a bottom tier with a faux drawer fall with embossed leather writing surface, enclosing a cabinet with fitted cupboards and drawers, over two cupboard doors opening to a three sliding pull-out gallery shelves, the whole with original brass hardware, and standing on bracket feet. Dimensions: H 90 inches x W 49 1/8 inches x D 24 1/8 inches Open Depth: 39 1/2 inches
