About the Item
Louis XVI Rolltop or cylinder desk, France, 1780. This original Louis XVI cylinder desk has an elegant mahogany veneer with satinwood inlays. It has five exterior drawers. Behind the cylinder top are six small drawers and an open compartment. The writing top can be pulled out. It is covered with green leather (later).
The desk has its original brass fittings. It comes professionally refinished and French polished.
