About the Item
This charming and practical Napoleon III style chiffonier with hidden secretary desk has been professionally refinished, and now shines in deepest ebony with richly contrasting brass inlay detailing. Its size makes it an easy fit for almost any space, a decorative accent with ample storage space in its five locking drawers. The front panel folds down to reveal a desk with embossed leather writing pad with two small drawers above and a shelved cubby space, faced in birdseye maple, with its distinctive three-dimensional grain pattern. The front and sides are finished in a gloss ebony black varnish, and feature detailed brass inlays of stylized plants, flowers and architectural motifs. The top is a single slab of off-white marble. Though it is a durable piece of furniture which could be used as a dry bar, or where me might type a quick email on a laptop - its aesthetics spark imaginings of a more regal, palatial setting.
