About the Item
Antique cast brass inkwell features 2 ceramic ink depositories with pen rests, all highly decorated in a Victorian style.
It most likely dates to the early 1900s.
Beautiful handcarved and engraved brass inkwell decorated with cherubs.
Inkwell marked under the base: N°3 and a punch.
Before ballpoint pens and even fountain pens, inkwells were needed to provide ink to quivers or other writing instruments.
