About the Item

Standing at almost eight feet in height, this large scale mid twentieth century French iron baker's rack is trimmed in brass around each of its six removeable wooden shelves. The shelves are on three levels with a divider in the center detailed with a scrolling motif. A brass bar with a finial on top joins the fronts of the two lower shelves. Originally used to hold loaves of bread and baguettes in a French bakery, this piece would be ideal in a kitchen for storage of pots and pans. c. 1950.
