Mid-Century Modern German Space Age SoftLine Series Wall Unit Shelf System by Otto Zapf for In Design Zapf, 1960s
Very rare wall unit system from the SoftLine series by In Design/Zapf, based on a design by Otto Zapf from the late 1960s.
A striking design object with functionality. As storage for everyday use or a stand-alone object in a minimalist environment. The special feature here lies in the details and the materials. Materials and connection systems found in the clothing or industrial sectors are placed in a different context here. The shiny foil surface and the bare press studs have a look and feel that is unique for furniture. The boxes have removable foil fronts that are secured with 6 snap fasteners. Heavy steel brackets are used for assembly, onto which the upper box is slid. The other elements are then simply “buttoned” on at the bottom. Four or fewer boxes can be used as required.
The system is in very good condition with signs of wear.
