About the Item

This George Nelson “Omni” Modular Wall Unit reimagines an icon of American modernism in bespoke rose-gold aluminum, transforming a celebrated shelving system into a work of architectural art. Designed for Herman Miller’s Omni Group, the unit exemplifies Nelson’s genius for modularity, balance, and refined utility. Four spring-loaded tension poles, finished in rare rose-gold, extend from floor to ceiling—supporting nine richly patinated walnut shelves that appear to float within the framework. The effect is both structural and sculptural: elegant, weightless, and unmistakably modern. This modular system requires no wall mounting (unless desired), making it as adaptable as it is beautiful—ideal as a room divider, gallery display, or statement shelving system. The rose-gold finish is exceptionally rare; original Omni units were produced almost exclusively in brass or anodized aluminum. This variant introduces a subtle warmth that elevates the walnut grain, creating a contemporary dialogue between materiality and light. Under soft interior or gallery lighting, the pink-toned metal gleams with understated sophistication, lending new life to Nelson’s mid-century vision. This three-bay configuration includes four poles, nine shelves, twenty-five adjustable brackets, two wall mounts, and two additional spanners for ceiling adjustment. The shelves can be repositioned with ease using an Allen key, allowing nearly infinite compositions. A scanned copy of the original assembly instructions is included for authenticity and reference. Dimensions (approximate): Width: 242.6 cm (95.5 in.) Depth: 33.7 cm (13.25 in.) Height adjustable: 246–249 cm (97–98 in.) Shelf size: 81.3 cm W × 30.5 cm D (32 × 12 in.) Condition: VERY GOOD condition. Only a few minor age appropriate blemishes on metal rails and supports. Minor imperfections on walnut shelves. Professionally detailed top to bottom. Provenance: Attributed to George Nelson for Herman Miller, circa 1960s–1970s. This bespoke rose-gold edition is an exceedingly rare variant of the iconic Omni system—a collector-grade piece marrying historical authenticity with contemporary refinement.

Lighted Custom Made Modern Cherry Buffet Dry Bar With Wine Rack and Bar Cart
By Foster-McDavid, Arne Vodder, Brown Saltman, Jens Risom
Located in Chattanooga, TN
Please believe me when I say pictures don't this piece justice. The cherry wood shimmers and gleams with an almost indescribable Iridescence that looks like rivers of honey that form the ebbing and flowing grain. The tones and hues of the piece change depending on how the light hits it and where your eye catches it. You'll see amber, ochre, honey, and umber. We purchased this cabinet from the son of the original owners who had it custom made in the 1970's. Although it looks similar to the works to Jens Risom, Arne Vodder, and Brown-Saltman, this is a custom, made 1 of 1 credenza. There are many unique aspects to this piece that seem inspired by many designers of the period. A large cherry door on the left conceals open cabinet space with removable / adjustable shelves. The right has a faux-door panel that is made to resemble the one on the left. However, this faux-door is actually the front panel to a roll-out bar cart. This handsome server sports two drop-leaves that double its counter space. This mini buffet...
