About the Item

A substantial late 1940s French Art Deco sideboard, sourced in Provence, France. This credenza displays the refined craftsmanship and transitional aesthetic of the post-war period, combining the geometric ornamentation of Art Deco with the clean silhouettes that anticipated Mid-Century Modern design. The façade features four doors with parquetry veneer arranged in a diamond lattice pattern, framed by ribbon-grained panels. The top and sides are finished in richly figured rosewood veneer, while the case is raised on ebonized tapered legs capped with brass sabots. The interior is fitted with a light sycamore lining, including open shelving, two drawers with contrasting veneer fronts, and a bar compartment mounted to the door. Restored by our in-house team, the piece has been structurally revised for stability and polished to enhance the warmth and depth of the wood grain. This sideboard offers generous storage and presents as an elegant example of French Art Deco transitional design. - Origin: Provence, France - Period: Mid 20th Century - Materials: Rosewood, Paint, Brass. - Dimensions: W 86.25" x D 21" x H 39.25" - Condition: Structurally sound and restored by our in-house team.
