This sideboard, dating from the 1930s and originating from the Netherlands, is a distinctive example of the Amsterdamse School movement, executed in oak with coromandel details. The piece is architectonic in character with a solid and grounded stance expertly executed. Its rectilinear form in oak is punctuated by meticulously carved appliqués in coromandel, illustrating detailed and complex geometric compositions visible on the corner brackets and central lock escutcheons. Bold, architectural, and deeply ornamental, this piece doesn't sacrifice functionality; four drawers and ample space behind the doors provide generous storage.
