About the Item

This large and impressive French Art Deco oak wood sideboard or serving cabinet attributed to Adolphe Chanaux was made in France circa 1930. This exceptional European cabinet is expertly handcrafted from rift sawn oak wood and features gorgeous wood grain throughout with a beautiful inlaid parquetry design across the top surface. The cabinet provides generous storage space with three large front cabinet doors that open on a wide storage compartment on the right hand side with interior shelving and smaller compartment on the left with two dovetailed drawers with original metal handles. The lower shelving section on the right hand side is removable and appears to be a later addition. All three doors are locking with three original working keys. The doors have functional magnetic closures that may also be a later addition. This collectible and versatile cabinet can be used as a sideboard buffet, credenza, bar cabinet, storage cabinet, media console, etc. The perfect showpiece for home or office.
