About the Item

Danish Modern Oak Floating Sideboard by Poul Cadovius for Cado 1960s. Scandinavian Mid-Century Modern 2 bay wall unit model Cado with back panels. This is a original vintage floating cabinets designed by Danish architect Poul Cadovius. Cadovius had the revolutionary idea to design a floating, modular shelving system that would maximize floor space and signify the end of conformity in shelving. He first designed the model Royal with brass shelf brackets and a few years later the model Cado with wooden shelf brackets. He also named the company Cado. These two cabinets can be placed individually or together to create a wall mounted sideboard. One cabinet with double sliding doors features one height adjustable shelf. One cabinet with drop down door fitted as a record or magazine cabinet with vertical dividers. Key is included. This set consists of: 2 Mounting panels , 80 x 42.5 cm 2 Cabinets, 38 x 80 x 42.5 cm Very good original vintage condition with only light patina consistent with age and use. All surfaces has been cleaned and re-treated with soap flake solution, ready for use. Beautiful light Nordic white oak.
