About the Item
A fine example of a Federal period mahogany sideboard with shaped top and conforming case, featuring a center velvet lined frieze flatware drawer over a two door central storage compartment, flanked by two bottle drawers and two additional side storage compartments with shaped doors, all accented with delicate checkered and line inlay, and oval foliate decorated brasses, all supported by six tapered square legs with bellflower and line inlay. The sideboard probably dates to the late 18th or early 19th century in very good condition, with some shrinkage, minor surface imperfections, and light wear commensurate with age and use.
