French Art Deco Eleven Piece Carved Inlaid Burled Walnut and Ormolu Mounted Dining Room Suite, c.1920’s, consisting of a thick marble top server with a beveled mirror back splash, over a breakfront ogee edge figured creme marble above a setback center drawer over a large cupboard door, on a plinth base, on tapered square legs, H. - 62 in., W.54 1/2 in., D.- 19 in; together with a matching marble top sideboard with two beveled glass display cabinets flanking a central beveled mirror, over a breakfront creme marble base with a setback center drawer above a large cupboard door, flanked by four smaller cupboard doors, on a plinth base on tapered square legs, H, - 87 in., W.-67 in., D.- 23 3/4 in; and an oval dining table with four leaves, on square tapered legs with ormolu sabots, H.- 29 7/8 in., W. 54 1/2 in.,D.- 47 1/4 in; and eight matching side chairs, the stepped canted back over an ormolu frieze above a vertical splat, to a trapezoidal seat on tapered square legs with ormolu sabots, in brown leather seats with iron tack upholstery, H.- 37 3/4 in., W.- 17 1/4 in., D.- 18 in. (11 Pcs.) Note: In true French style, the leaves are unfinished and designed to be used with a table cloth.

    Wear consistent with age and use. This set is in good Antique condition, requisite with its age and use. A few scattered dents and rubs, nothing major. The original marble tops are in good condition, some very minor edge chips. The table leaves are intended to use w/a table cloth.

Antique early 19th century American pine and maple Corner Cupboard, c 1810. Made of pine and maple, featuring triangular form with stunning original glazed wavy glass doors, three drawers and wood doors below This cupboard has pale pink old milk painted interior shelves. The glass features waves and bubbles consistent with age and was completely hand made with wooden pegs. Ever wonder how large, tall pieces of furniture were moved in and out of the small doorways in 18th-19th century homes? Beginning about 1740, corner cupboards were very popular storage pieces. Some were built into the room by carpenters so they never had to be moved. Instead of a rectangular piece of furniture, the corner piece was triangular in the back so it fit into a corner with no wasted space. Through the years, many of these built-ins have been removed and given new backs. Most old corner cupboards were made by a cabinetmaker to be moved from house to house. The top section usually had glass cabinet doors covering several shelves. The silver or dishes inside were arranged to be admired. The bottom section had two wooden cabinet doors...
