About the Item

A 1970s H. W. Klein for Bramin oak sideboard. Two sliding doors reveal inner shelving. Blonde oak finish. Marked Bramin, Made in Denmark. H. W. Klein (Henry Walter Klein, 1919–1992) was a Danish designer known for his refined contributions to mid-20th-century furniture design. After serving in World War II, Klein studied under Finn Juhl at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, where he developed his approach to modern form and craftsmanship. In the 1950s and 1960s, he designed extensively for the Norwegian manufacturer Bramin, creating dining tables, sideboards, and lounge chairs that embodied Scandinavian modern principles of clean lines, functional detail, and high-quality materials. His work is noted for combining elegance with practical construction, often featuring sculpted teak and rosewood. Today, Klein’s designs are appreciated for their timeless modernism.
