These Belgian credenzas showcase a meticulously crafted design, featuring a clear rhythm and flow that exudes harmony and balance. The carved pyramid front immediately catches the eye and is the signature for this item; a design that established during the seventies when Brutalism was at his highest level specifically in Belgium. This movement is an architectural style started from the mid-20th century, aiming for raw, geometric and compromise-less buildings. Characterized by blatant concrete-skeletons with geometric patterns and Puritan materials. In decorative arts brutalism is highly represented in furniture design. The design convinces visually through its stabile construction accomplished by the remarkable diagonal lines. The deep black color underscores the cabinet's substantial and robust appearance. The interior is furnished with shelves, providing plenty of storage space. Overall, the style is simple and understated and strongly reminds of the designs of De Coene.
