About the Item

This Swiss sideboard dates to the late Biedermeier period around 1850, at a moment when the stylistic transition toward Historicism had already begun. It is crafted from solid cherrywood with a striking, high-contrast grain pattern that strongly suggests wild cherry, giving the piece a warm and expressive character. The back panel is made of spruce. Both drawers can be locked centrally, and the two doors below also feature fully functioning original locks with brass fittings and key heads. The proportions are clean and balanced, typical of Swiss Biedermeier furniture, with a calm and timeless appearance that integrates well into both classic and modern interiors. The piece has been carefully restored and hand-polished and is presented in very good condition, ready for immediate use.
