About the Item

A fine example of a Hepplewhite style mahogany serpentine sideboard with conforming crossbanded top surmounting a case with central frieze flatware drawer flanked by two doors opening to storage compartments, with decorative quarter fan inlay and crossbanded veneer borders, oval paterae, and brass hardware, paneled sides with continuing crossbanded veneer borders, and nicely shaped center apron, all supported by six square tapered legs adorned with bellflower inlay. A Lillian August manufacturer label can be found inside the frieze drawer. The sideboard dates to the late 20th century and is in very good overall condition, with minor surface scratches, veneer imperfections, minimal losses and light wear commensurate with age and use.
