About the Item

Mid-Century Italian Oak Sideboard Gold-Plated Base, Leather Front Doors 1960s Straight-lined Italian sideboard from the 1960s on a geometric metal base. The body is veneered with oak, the panels of the front doors are designed with braided fine leather straps - a beautiful ajouré work. The base is made of rectangular iron rods and is gold-plated. The sideboard is characterised by its narrow body, which almost seems to float thanks to the metal base. The body rests on the gilded base, which is also geometrically designed - the whole object has a light-footed and modern look. Decorative rectangular brass keys complement the object as a restrained detail. There is a shelf on each side.

Very deep engraving of the glass panels executed in a high-level individual workmanship. Size of one glass panel: 34 cm x 26 cm + wooden frame 2 cm The 2 doors are set as if in a frame, the body stands on a pedestal. Therefore, the object appears light-footed despite the solid construction. The front side of the strong wooden feet is decorated by ropes. The surface was waxed again and has a pleasant soft touch.
