About the Item

In 1958, van Apeldoorn established his own Furniture workshop, named "Ate van Apeldoorn meubelmakerij." He specialized in crafting solid wood furniture, primarily from oak and pine. His style was shaped by the organic design movement, focusing on simple, functional forms. Van Apeldoorn's furniture became easily identifiable due to his signature use of 'box' joints. His designs were widely displayed and gained significant popularity in the 1970s. His workshop was renamed 'Houtwerk Hattem'. Despite his success, van Apeldoorn chose to remain an independent craftsman throughout his career, opting not to mass-produce his designs. He always prioritized the quality of his furniture and the longevity of the materials. Ate van Apeldoorn left behind a lasting legacy in the design and creation of solid wood furniture. His work is starting to gain a lot of interest over the last 10 yrs. This sideboard is in very good condition with normal wear tear. Doors slide easily. Solid and ready to be used.
