About the Item

Morris and Co attributed. A subtle Anglo-Japanese Walnut sideboard dresser designed to sit against a wall. The top row has pierced club details with shelves to the upper section and a touch of Japanese scroll carving to the inner and outer lower shelf sides. A row of four small drawers set back from the work area. Three middle size drawers across the lower front, and two deep drawers below to each side. All the drawers are fitted with high security Bramah locks, a sign of quality and expensive in there day. The copper hand twisted drawer handles are made by Richard Rathbone a master metalworker and one of the finer metalworkers from the Arts and Crafts Movement. The dresser is stood on eight legs with subtle Japanese arch decoration to the three open sides, to the front, and to each side end. Stood on the original brass and ceramic castors.
