About the Item

An authentic and elegant chess of drawers cabinet usually called "Semainier" (weekly cabinet) as it offers 7 drawers, one per week day, with thin, rich and sensual lines, sometime attributed to André-Charles Boulle. This piece stands up with its strong Napoleon III, Empire, Directory feel, which fits any contemporary Shabby-Chic interior project. The furniture's body is made in refined wood marquetry decorations, original white marble top, enhanced with beautiful bronze details, to be attributed (without stamp), In Boulle style, France 1850. The furniture comes with 1 single key, working with all drawers. To be possibly duplicated... CONDITION: In authentic original condition. Wear, scratches, rays, signs of use, patina on all surfaces. Some brighten wood areas and varnish used areas must be signaled on the sides, probably due to sun exposition over years (This can be fixed on demand for the buyer). The marble is un great condition. The whole furniture is in great condition, despite a few (discrete) signs of age. This is an authentic, unrestored, piece of history!
