About the Item
Stunning “Paola” sideboard designed by Oswald Vermaercke for V-Form, Belgium 1960. A refined example of Belgian mid-century craftsmanship, the piece is executed in richly figured rosewood, showcasing dramatic grain patterns throughout, most notably on the sliding doors and the top surface.
The cabinet is thoughtfully designed with two sliding doors on the left and a bank of elegantly sculpted drawers on the right. The drawers feature beautifully bent, curved fronts on the inside, a sophisticated detail that highlights the high level of craftsmanship. Inside the cabinet, generous storage compartments provide practical functionality while maintaining a clean and minimal aesthetic.
The sideboard stands on tapered solid wood legs integrated into a gently curved base, giving the piece a light, floating presence. Fully restored and in very good condition, it presents a warm, luxurious finish that enhances the natural depth and character of the rosewood veneer.
