About the Item
Pair of trumeau sideboards with flanking carved caryatids in the Retour d'Egypte style. The sideboards are fitted with two doors and a wide drawer. The carved figures are blackened and the details are heightened in gold. The rich fittings in fire-gilt bronze complement the furniture. The symmetrical, straight grain of the walnut veneer lends the sideboards a timeless character. The sideboards have been restored and polished by hand.
