19th Century Solid Oak Rococo Style Cupboard with H Bury A Paris Clock

About the Item

An unusual Rococo style cupboard with clock. Made of oak, dated to the second half of the 19th century. Furniture after professional renovation. Noteworthy are the original, old cast glass, openwork decorations characteristic of the style and, above all, the clock in the central part. Two-component cupboard. Down three-door furniture, with three drawers. Straight sides. Front of the furniture with a wavy outline. The whole is decorated with precisely carved rocaillas characteristic of the charming Rococo style. The upper part is very exposed. Glazed on three sides, even at the top and corner columns! Please note the openwork rocaille on the windows! Two shelves inside. The interior is lined with green cloth. Furniture topped with a wavy crown with floral decoration at the top. A clock inside the furniture - after a professional watchmaking. Clock mechanism: Signed on the dial H BURY A PARIS French with a low serial number 3740. Spring drive pendulum regulator. Full mechanism plates up to 2.7 mm thick in perfect condition with no signs of corrosion. Wheel pinions fully polished. Etched brass dial partially silvered with a painted Roman hourly index on the silvered field. Minute graduation with the Arabic index. The central field is hand-engraved with a floral motif. Around the dial are four cast brass figures. The dipping mechanism of beating hours and a half hours of a Parisian design, one-tone struck on a cranial bell. The mechanism is equipped with an additional signed Fine adjustment system located below the number XII enabling the clock to be accurately set without opening the housing (patent from 1840 by Louis-Gabriel Brocot). Beautiful hand steel tips sawn and polished, blueed (/ blueing / - hot-dip oxide oxide coating). Brocot Escapement is not symmetrical. Short pendulum typical of French clocks with steel rod, brass pendulum lens. The Classic mechanism is very solid and shows no signs of excessive wear or unprofessional repairs, e.g. tapering of bearings. A unique and unusual piece of furniture after professional renovation.
