About the Item
A magnificent French 19th century Louis XVI st. flamed mahogany, patinated bronze and ormolu vitrine cabinet. The cabinet is raised on ormolu ball feet with an ebony bottom border. The central glass doors are decorated with a floral ormolu border at the top and ormolu oil lamps above patinated bronze designs. At each side are two additional doors with very impressive patinated bronze plaques, in the manner of Clodion and ormolu bottom border. Ebony Greek key designed filets adorn the top accented with ormolu rosettes and ormolu floral borders continue on each side. The doors open to reveal interior adjustable shelves. The top of the cabinet is finished to facilitate displays if desired.
