About the Item
A large-scale late 19th century Louis XVI style display case / vitrine with sliding glass doors and gold finished wood furniture, decorated with neoclassical motifs. The sides are glass, and the inside back is made up of two large mirror panels. There is an arrow scratched into the mirror silver, likely to designate the top of the panel to assist in assembly (see picture). The interior is wired for lighting, though this system should be tested and probably modernized. The exterior wooden surfaces are mostly intact, with some small losses. Overall, the vitrine is in very solid structural shape, and with a bit of TLC it could be a dramatic and stylish place to exhibit all sorts of curios or collections.
