About the Item
Louis XV-style vitrine crafted of veneered rosewood, amaranth and satinwood. Elegantly set upon cabriole legs, the showcase is distinguished by a luxurious marquetry decoration featuring floral pattern and vases. The satinwood is an exotic wood with a yellow background and red or yellow-gray and gray-green veins, used in cabinetmaking and marquetry. When polished, it has a satin sheen. Amaranth and rosewood are tropical woods widely used in the 18th century marquetry, and allowing to execute opulent compositions.
This French display cabinet is adorned by beautifully chiseled and gilded bronze mounts of acanthus, shells and elegant scrollwork.
The vitrine opens by two glass doors in the upper part, a drawer forming secretary with two other small drawers inside, and two glass doors in the lower part. Its large interior with wood shelving make it the perfect display piece for tableware and collectibles.
