The Mikado Collection is inspired by the game "Pick a Stick" we used to play in childhood. Tubes of thick copper, which remind us of the Mikado sticks game, are cut at precise angles and fitted with great accuracy in the furniture, providing much-needed support.
This vitrine, "Mikado Display Case", is a beautiful way to showcase those collectables we love—unique pieces that shouldn't be in a drawer, sometimes filled with sentimental value. Its form is light and fluid, with the vitrine appearing to float over the finely crafted legs. Many consider this piece a work of art, like a sculpture.
The listed piece is mastercrafted of carefully selected black oak wood, black lacquered wood, and handmade brushed copper. Copper furniture is not just a trend; it will last long. It's perfect for creating a warm and inviting ambience in any space. Also, copper is 100% recyclable, eco-friendly, and highly durable.
However, we can also manufacture this vitrine using customised options and larger sizes.
Structure: Stainless steel (polished or brushed); brass (polished or brushed); or copper (polished or brushed). The polished or brushed finish is handmade by the author.
Body: Another kind of wood (ebony macassar, tineo, walnut, ironwood) or lacquer colour.
Extra-large size (50 x 200 x 250 cm - 19.7 x 78.7 x 98.4 in).
Custom dimensions are only available after analysis.
Needs simple assembly.

In 2018, it won a "Silver A' Design Award" in the "Furniture, Decorative Items, and Homeware Design" category.
This piece is entirely made in Portugal and manufactured artisanally. The author carefully executed or supervised every process step in a small workshop context.

Tapparelle is a collection of cabinets that explore the traditional technique of old office furniture with tambour sliding shutters no longer in use, turning them into furniture for the contemporary home with soft and unusual lines.
The base has tapered solid oak feet and sliding shutters. The sliding shutters, "Tapparelle" in Italian (from there comes the name of the product), specially designed for this collection, are composed in chopsticks in solid oak and hand finished and assembled on cotton canvas, as true artisan tradition wants! The structure is in wood panels thickness 16 mm, with double bottom that hides the sliding of the shutter.
