About the Item
Presenting an exquisite Signed François Linke Bronze Mounted Louis XV Kingwood Vitrine China Cabinet, a museum-quality piece that showcases the artistry and craftsmanship of one of France’s most celebrated ébénistes. Dating from the late 19th to early 20th century, this cabinet epitomizes the luxury of the Belle Époque era, blending fine kingwood veneers, hand-chased ormolu bronze mounts, and graceful Rococo-inspired curves.
The vitrine features a serpentine form with beveled glass panels on three sides, allowing for a full display of fine porcelain, collectibles, or treasured heirlooms. The interior is richly lined in a regal red damask fabric with gilt foliate motifs, enhancing the presentation of displayed items. The detailed gilt bronze mounts highlight the cabinet’s shaped apron, cabriole legs, and crest, all of which are hallmarks of Linke’s refined Louis XV style.
Signed by François Linke, a name synonymous with the highest standards of Parisian cabinetry, this vitrine is not just furniture—it is a collector’s investment and a piece of decorative art. Perfect for a grand salon, formal dining room, or curated collection, this French Louis XV kingwood vitrine embodies opulence, history, and timeless elegance.

François Linke
François Linke, the most important French ébéniste of his time. Born in Bohemia in 1855, Linke moved to Paris in 1881 where he established his now-famous workshop and showroom. Linke's superior work spread quickly through France and he soon eclipsed even the finest furniture houses of Paris. Today, Linke is counted among the most important furniture makers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and his work is dearly coveted by collectors. Linke is celebrated for designing highly innovative furnishings by infusing the Rococo style with the Art Nouveau trends of Paris and this Louis XV style desk exemplifies his highly original style.
