About the Item

This exceptional Baroque “Wellenschrank” (wave cabinet) was crafted in Nuremberg, Southern Germany, around 1730 and represents the very finest craftsmanship of its era. The façade displays elegantly fluted and curved doors veneered in richly figured, bookmatched walnut laid cross-grain on solid softwood. The sides are made of oak and embellished with intricate walnut inlays, a rare and highly sought-after feature. The sculptural serpentine cornice crowns the architectural silhouette, which rests on original compressed bun feet. Inside, generous shelving provides both beauty and practicality, while the original floral-engraved brass lock plate attests to its artisanal origin. Fully restored and hand-polished, this rare Nuremberg Baroque wardrobe combines historical prestige, meticulous craftsmanship, and impressive decorative presence—an outstanding museum-quality statement piece for sophisticated interiors.
