About the Item
A large scale antique French beautifully crafted armoire with elaborate carved details top to bottom. The top cornice with a carved band of large flowers on the front. The cabinet top with a complementary carved foliate band over a frieze with floral vines and a large center two part crest with birds and a basket of flowers, vines and grape clusters.
The double doors with carved urns with foliate vines and grape clusters above and below. With finely chased long brass mounts with floral baskets and a crest with a crown over a wreath framed ship. With a working key.
The sides made in three panels and the cabinet front with reeded and carved narrow supports. The serpentine skirt rail is a drawer carved with a center urn with foliate vines and grape clusters. Raised on tall square legs carved with leaves in front. The inside with shelves and hooks.
Dimensions:
89" high x 19" deep x 54" wide
Condition: Please review the detail photos. Various signs of age and wear include a few wood losses and the right door with a long stable vertical age crack. The crest is missing part of the right side with a bird and leaves. There is slight surface wear to the doors and wear to the interior but a good antique patina. It does not include the bedding as pictured. A working key is included and the presentation is exceptional.
