American 19th century painted Folk Art marriage chest and hanging cupboard A very rare and unusual American painted Folk Art Marriage chest and hanging cupboard, the cupboard has 5 graduated drawers in the centre and a full length hanging cupboard at each side, both with hanging hooks inside, one with a shoe locker at the bottom This lovely piece the cupboard is painted with flowers birds and a marriage scene in the centre front dated 1827 The cupboard shows a few signs of wear to the finish including a long scratch to the right hand cupboard door, but it is sound and comes into 6 pieces for ease of transportation. The interior of the hanging cupboards has been lined in wall paper The cupboard is 74” tall, 77” wide and 23” deep MD132.
