Antique Aesthetic style marquetry and gilt bronze wardrobe with mirror
Continental, early 20th century
Dimensions: Height 202cm, width 154cm, depth 61cm
This beautiful wardrobe is crafted from wooden marquetry, with mounted ormolu details. It is designed in the stunning Aesthetic Movement style, which flourished in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The central cabinet of the wardrobe features a large full-length mirror in the centre. This is flanked by two protruding cabinets, with floral marquetry designs on their doors. The wood is mounted either side with ormolu reliefs of playful cherubs and a frieze of floral and foliate detailing.
The central and right-hand doors open to reveal clothing rails, while the left-hand side opens to five shelves for folded clothing.
