Description:
Antique two-door wardrobe of Alpine origin, dated 1843. The blue background, bright and gently aged, frames a series of central panels richly decorated with vibrant floral bouquets arranged in vertical, harmonious compositions. The predominant tones—antique pink, forest green, ivory, and touches of deep red—create a pleasing contrast with the blue base, resulting in a warm and refined chromatic effect.
The borders painted in faux rose marble, present on both the shaped crown and the lower moulding, help frame the piece with a scenic effect typical of mid-19th-century Alpine production. The sides are also embellished with small floral motifs. The doors are divided into vertical panels, each featuring a different botanical composition alternating round flowers, ramages, and buds.
The slender proportions, together with the richness of the decoration, make this piece particularly suitable for both traditional interiors and more eclectic spaces where an antique element can serve as a focal point. The presence of the date and the original initials painted on the front testifies to the celebratory nature of the piece, likely linked to an important family event such as a wedding.
The stylistic and chromatic elements fully reflect the decorative tradition of the Alpine valleys, where popular floral painting reached its highest level of expressiveness in the 19th century.
Restoration Information:
The photographs you see portray the furniture in a state that is not yet restored or only partially restored.
At the time of sale, the restoration will be completed according to the client’s tastes and preferences; the exterior will be waxed and any scratches or marks removed, and the interior will be cleaned and polished with shellac.
Our workshop guarantees a conservative restoration aimed at respecting the integrity and authenticity of every piece of furniture. All items are treated to ensure solidity, durability, and hygiene.
After the interventions, the furniture will be ready for use, suitable for storing clothing, tableware, or food.

Structural restoration: repair of small missing parts, closing any gaps in the back panel, consolidation of deteriorated areas, control and repair of hardware.
Anti-woodworm treatment carried out thoroughly.
Cleaning and sanitising of the interior.
Exterior finishing with natural beeswax.
Interior finishing with shellac, a natural alcohol-based varnish.

Upon request, it is possible to agree on:
