About the Item

A large and impressive Victorian mahogany wardrobe, dating to the mid–late 19th century, retaining its original crowned “VR” (Victoria Regina) lock. (There is no key present) This substantial piece was originally produced for institutional or official use during Queen Victoria’s reign, reflected in its robust construction, plain architectural form, and authentic Crown-stamped iron lock. The wardrobe is crafted from solid mahogany, showing a rich patina and attractive grain developed over time. The interior offers hanging and storage space, making it both a striking decorative piece and a highly practical wardrobe. A rare and characterful wardrobe, ideal for period interiors, large spaces, or collectors of authentic Victorian furniture.
