About the Item

An exceptional quality armoire with superior color and carving.  From the Bresse region of France with design and construction motifs and characteristics unique to this region. The body is constructed in cherry, while the panels are highly figured field elm. Dated 1845.

    Wear consistent with age and use. Very good - the interior has been covered in wall papered plywood panels - easily removed and a drawer has been made for the interior which is an imitation of the workmanship outside. all hardware original.
